As many of you will know a few weeks ago we launched Clean Contacts, an innovative data hygiene product for customers of Microsoft Dynamics 365. We were therefore excited to read about the new deal between Microsoft and Nuance Communications, which will spearhead next generation customer engagement driven by voice search. The $19.7 billion purchase is the second largest in Microsoft’s history, after its acquisition of networking site LinkedIn in 2016, indicating just how important speech recognition will be.

Nuance provides AI expertise and customer engagement solutions across Interactive Voice Response (IVR), virtual assistants, and digital and biometric solutions to companies around the world across all industries. Microsoft believes that this expertise will come together with the breadth and depth of Microsoft’s cloud, including Azure, Teams, and Dynamics 365, to deliver next-generation customer engagement.

This deal is of interest as data lies at the very heart of successful speech recognition. We recently wrote an article published by the DMA which you can read here about the importance of data hygiene in data science and with our new product Clean Contacts, customers of Microsoft Dynamics 365 can ensure that their customer data is as clean and up –to-date as possible – all within the security of the Azure ecosystem. This is the first time that any CRM platform has enabled in-platform data cleansing making it quicker, easier and more secure. Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more info!
